The list above is for the independent search engines, all the other are mostly powered by one of the above. So when some sites claim they will submit you site to thousands of search engines, in my opinion, *******. Maybe to some directories, but most of the time it is only to get their hands on you cash.

 

                           

 

Don't believe me? Think about it and try it for yourself. What you have to do is, when you search for search engines or sites to submit your site (url), look on the front page to see if you can see it displaying something down the line of powered by. They should do, as it would be part of the terms and condition of search box supplier.

 

In short, when you submit your url to the major search engines, all the other sites would pick it up, as they would be using our major search engines from the list above for all the search they carry out. 

 

It is always best to start off by advertising for free as much as possible. Having your site coming up on search engines, means people can find you. If people can not find you when they search for things related to your business then it will be no good for your business whatever it maybe.

                       

Some on these search engines may list you higher at a cost, but usually in 4jokerz opinion it is best to start off with the free submission. If you chose the correct keywords and meta tags, it will help you get listed higher. But remember, that will only get you into the list of search engine. Some search engines do say that, they do not guarantee any listing at all, or that it may take weeks. So if you do have the budget to pay for advertising, then do so.

 

 

Try and avoid submitting your site more than once a month, as it will be seen as spamming by certain search engines and maybe excluded overall.

2. If you have the budget, use it with search engines that are willing to rank you higher for a fee.

3. Advertise with the top advertisers, such as Google, Yahoo, Bidvertiser, Commission Junction etc.
